Superior speaking skills ensure success. For over 20 years, BASA has been helping young people to develop those skills. Using literature to hone speaking proficiency, develop critical thinking, and make better people, our classes are tailored to the needs of individual students. Our program prepares students for success in all types of performances, from interviews and school projects to speeches, debates, networking, and life.
Students cover a spectrum of skills, including:
Clarity, volume, and projection

Thinking and communicating with clarity and precision is the basis of building meaningful relationships in our personal, educational, and professional lives. In this class, small groups of students will work collaboratively to build the foundations of effective communication by producing engaging material and delivering impactful performances.
Through the course of a term, students will:
Explore a wide array of literature
Learn speech and story structure
Develop research and critical thinking skills
Master essential performance techniques
Present their work in several performance opportunities
Grades: 5 - 6
Class Length: 50 minutes
With every performance experience comes improvement and confidence, so we strive to provide our students with as many varied performance opportunities as possible. Though all of our students are challenged by our own internal exams, many also choose to take external exams offered by The Royal Conservatory of Music.
