Superior speaking skills ensure success. For over 20 years, BASA has been helping young people to develop those skills. Using literature to hone speaking proficiency, develop critical thinking, and make better people, our classes are tailored to the needs of individual students. Students cover a spectrum of skills, including:

  • Critical thinking and decision-making

  • Confident presentation and communication

In order to explore their voices and their potential to communicate ideas clearly and powerfully, children require tools and practice. Creative Voices is designed to help developing minds connect ideas and feelings to the words they speak.

Students will learn to:

  • organize ideas with creativity and clarity

  • work together to bring stories to life

With every performance experience comes improvement and confidence, so we strive to provide our students with as many varied performance opportunities as possible. Though all of our students are challenged by our own internal exams, many also choose to take external exams offered by The Royal Conservatory of Music.

Beginning in RCM Grade 7, students are required to write theory examinations in order to complete each grade and receive their certificate.

Speech Technique & Theory 1: For students completing Grade 6 or 7 RCM practical exams this June, Tech 1 is the co-requisite to Grade 7 and can be completed either before or after your Grade 7 practical.

Speech Technique & Theory 2: For students completing Grade 7 or 8 RCM practical exams this June, Tech 2 is the co-requisite to Grade 8 and can be completed either before or after your Grade 8 practical.

History & Literature 1: For students completing Grade 8 or 9 RCM practical exams this June, History and Literature 1 is the co-requisite to Grade 9 and can be completed either before or after your Grade 9 practical.
