External Festivals 2022

Every spring, BASA students have the opportunity to participate in external Speech Arts Festivals where they can showcase their performance skills in front of a new audience and a non-BASA adjudicator. The two local Speech Arts Festivals are the Coquitlam District Music Festival and the Vancouver Speech and Drama Festival. Students can participate in multiple competitive categories for various awards and Certificates

Vancouver Speech Arts + Drama Festival

Provincial Class (Open to BC residents only)
IN PERSON April 21 & 22, 2022
St. James Community Square (3214 W. 10th Avenue, Vancouver, BC)

All other categories (Open to participants worldwide)
ONLINE
Video submission deadline: April 25, 2022
Adjudications returned by: May 16, 2022

Coquitlam District Music Festival

Festival dates: March 27 - April 1, 2022
Registration will open in November 2021.

External Exams 2022

With every performance experience comes improvement and increased confidence, so we strive to provide our students with as many varied performance opportunities as possible. Though all of our students are challenged by our own internal exams, many also choose to take external exams offered by The Royal Conservatory of Music or Trinity College London.

RCM and Trinity exams take place in both Winter (January/February) and Spring/Summer (May - August). If you are interested in taking part in an external exam, please speak to your teacher.
