WRiting Contest #2 - Fiction
Exploration fiction
We all find ourselves in new situations from time to time: transferring to a new school, moving to a bigger house, arriving in a foreign city, or crash-landing on a distant planet inhabited by dagger-breathing ice dragons where we have to build a series of interconnected underground tunnels to ensure our own survival. When these new situations arrive, it’s not only important to establish where we are, but to figure out how to navigate our feelings.
For our next BASA writing contest, we invite students to submit fiction that celebrates EXPLORATION. In what new environment will your characters find themselves? A secret lair? An impenetrable jungle? An alternate dimension? Oakridge Mall’s new food court? More importantly, what will they learn about themselves along the way? Submit one story up to a maximum of 250 words long before Dec. 5th.
