Mr. Holmes

Mr. Holmes began his career in the field of the spoken arts as a professional actor on stage, film and television after having graduated from one of the most highly regarded acting programs in Canada, Studio 58.

Having spent 15 years exploring every genre from Shakespeare to a granola bar commercial and acting in over 50 cities, 7 countries and 3 continents, he truly found his love of the spoken word when he joined BASA as an instructor 14 years ago.

Mr. Holmes created the Creative Voices program at BASA for small children 9 years ago when he noticed that his own sons had highly developed communication skills, having grown up with two parents in the field of the spoken arts.

Through this program, he has helped develop the communication skills of hundreds of children and has seen them go on to achieve great things including acceptance to prestigious, private schools, win awards and competitions and even appear on television shows.

Mr. Holmes’ teaching successes lay in a fundamental sense of focused play rooted in developing imaginations, increased confidence in speech and a heightened sense of self awareness.

Within his private lessons, he has fostered relationships with all his students for years, watching some of them grow from small children to confident teens then highly driven grad students to eventually attending ivy league universities.

Mr. Holmes’s received his Associate Diploma in Speech Arts from the Trinity College of London with Distinction.
