MR. K

With a background in film & television, Mr. K approaches speech arts with a creative writing perspective. He enjoys writing stories with movie-like sensibilities and loves helping students find their voice based on their own interests.

Prior to joining BASA in 2019, Mr. K has assisted on films large and small. From local shows such as “Once Upon a Time” to theatrical things like “Avengers” and “Star Wars”.   If you search "HumanTown" on CBC, you'll spot a TV pilot  he co-wrote where he plays a delightful Orc monster named Orthak.

Based on this past experience, Mr. K loves sharing his creativity and cultivating imagination in his students. As a fan of improvisation, Mr. K also encourages everyone to take risks in their writing and performance because that’s where the excitement lies!

In 2020, Mr. K was awarded a Canadian Arts Council Grant to complete a collection of short science fiction stories which he is delighted to undertake.
